On May 13th, ISVOUGA welcomed Pedro Cruz, Executive Director of TSF – Rádio Notícias, for an open class of the Communication Law and Advertising curricular unit of the Degree in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations, taught by Susana Lamas, who moderated the event.
Under the theme of journalistic rigor and objectivity in conflict situations, a context in which the journalist has already found himself four times throughout his vast career, in this most recent open class of the course, Pedro Cruz explained what it means to be objective in journalism, how Can a reporter abstract from the environment, in order to convey a “clean” message and what truth can be told when movements are conditioned and facts omitted, manipulated or staged.
The open class ended with a well-attended debate, with students questioning the guest speaker with several pertinent questions.
